Founder Story

Healthcare lost what it was built on: continuity, clarity, and connection.

Homy is my answer to that loss. It comes from years of witnessing the gap between what patients need and what systems can deliver.

- Furkan Tutak, Founder of Homy

It started with a simple question.

I didn't set out to build a healthcare AI company. I was deep in home-care operations, coordinating visits, managing crises, talking to families at 2 AM when emergencies happened.

And I kept seeing the same pattern: patients would describe symptoms over the phone, we'd try to capture it in fragmented notes, and doctors would walk into consultations missing half the context. Important details lost in translation. Clinical decisions made on incomplete information.

The question became unavoidable:Why do we expect patients to speak in medical codes when they naturally speak in stories?

I saw the human cost of broken systems.

Night after night, I coordinated emergency home visits. I watched preventable crises unfold because information didn't flow properly. A patient's symptom mentioned three days ago never made it to the doctor's notes. A caregiver's observation dismissed as "non-clinical."

Day after day, I saw symptoms reduced to fragmented notes and rushed conversations. Patients felt unheard. Clinicians felt overwhelmed. And somewhere in the middle, critical information vanished.

The intake layer - the first moment a patient reaches out - was fundamentally broken. We were losing the story before the care could even begin.

This wasn't about technology failing. It was about a system that never had the right tools to capture what patients were actually saying - and what it actually meant clinically.

The moment of clarity.

I realized that patients are not truly heard, and clinicians are not given the full picture - not because anyone wants it that way, but because the systems we've built can't handle the complexity of human communication.

The solution wasn't another scheduling tool or another EHR bolt-on. It was an intelligent intake layer that could:

  • Listen to patients the way they naturally speak
  • Extract clinical meaning with medical precision
  • Deliver structured, reliable information to clinicians
  • Maintain continuity across every interaction

AI could transform this - but only if done with medical safety and clinical validation at the core.

This isn't a theoretical solution. It comes from years of carrying the operational load, sitting with families, handling emergencies, and seeing firsthand how easily preventable misunderstandings harm outcomes.

Why I committed to this mission.

I built Homy because I couldn't unsee the problem. Once you've watched a preventable crisis unfold because critical information was lost, you can't look away.

This isn't just a business opportunity. It's a fundamental belief that healthcare can - and must - be fixed at the intake layer. That every patient deserves to be fully understood. That every clinician deserves complete, reliable context.

I know this is a 10-20 year journey. Building medical-grade AI systems, earning clinical trust, transforming care workflows - this doesn't happen overnight.

But it's the right problem to solve. And I'm committed to seeing it through.

Built with 💙 in Utrecht & Istanbul.

Homy is headquartered in Utrecht - home to some of Europe's best healthcare infrastructure, medical innovation, and regulatory frameworks. It's the perfect foundation for building a medical-grade AI system that meets the highest standards of safety and compliance.

But my roots are in Istanbul, where I've seen a different side of healthcare: resource constraints, coordination challenges, family-driven care, and incredible resilience. I've watched how caregivers navigate complex systems with limited support, and how families become the backbone of care.

This dual perspective shapes everything we build.Homy isn't just for well-resourced clinics in wealthy regions - it's designed to work in real-world complexity, across different healthcare systems, languages, and care models.

We're building from Europe, for the world. With Utrecht's regulatory strength and Istanbul's understanding of care reality, Homy is designed to scale globally while staying grounded in human needs.

Where we're going.

Homy is not replacing healthcare. It's restoring what healthcare lost: continuity, clarity, and connection.

We're building the global intake and clinical reasoning layer for the next 20 years of medicine. A system where:

  • Every patient is fully understood, regardless of how they communicate
  • Every clinician has complete, structured context before every decision
  • Care coordination happens seamlessly, not through scattered notes
  • Healthcare organizations can operate AI-powered triage and reasoning at scale

This starts in home care and remote patient monitoring - where coordination challenges are most acute - but the vision extends to every healthcare touchpoint where patients and clinicians need to connect.

We're not just building a product. We're building the infrastructure for how healthcare will understand patients for the next generation.
